Ah, don’t believe if anyone tells you that there is nothing to see or do in Ozamis City. There are a lot of ”choices”! And I was pleasantly surprised that this city is gay friendly. And the cruising activities there is not (yet) rigidly commercial. I mean you still can have a companion or two who just want to enjoy the free beer and give you a time of your life later! Not all will necessarily demand for “payment”! Here we go:
Start with the trike drivers. Some of these drivers are out of school boys and men who opted to bum around and now just driving tricycles for a living. Having said that, it means that some of them come from roots of flawless skin complexion and handsome physique. Ah!
Then there are the students at the Cotta (the fort) in late afternoons. Outside of it, by the wharf is equally a number of guys but usually of the lower “echelons” so be careful dealing with them – esp that they stroll in groups. Students also frequent the church area during late afternoons down into the evening. They are a bit on the younger set though. The ‘Shopper’s Plaza’ is another option.
Sure fire place to hook up are the restaurants at dinnertime and way past that. Nightout bars are the best like Hobbz – do constantly check the diners/drinkers as boys come and go fast hehe! Finally, and this is where I hooked up, there is GAT’s Bar near the city hall. It is well known and so far the only (remaining) place that has live singers at night. Very cruisy but you just have to manage to emerge the winner over competition – girls. Start with the waiters and don’t lose hope even if he/they are married! I mean it he he! Crowd at GAT’s by the way is the affluent younger set of the city. It is a fun place.
