Iloilo Dinagyang Feast – Part 2

The previous story title had part 1, therefore there is a part 2 and this is it!

Done with the brother of the cook (we had to make it quick since he was driving his brother home on their motorbike), I was out roaming alone again, as they had all gone for home - I suppose!

I know it is far, but for some reason, I found myself at this swanky area called "smallville". Hello superman? Are you there? For those who don't know, this is the IN place of the city lined with so many bars and restaurants and always bustling with just about every show disco or dance!

I walked around trying to see where I might find it good and cozy to spend a few minutes or the whole night, if need be. Hmm, I saw this kind of disco on the left and the whole place was throbbing with hip-hop sounds and it looked like the customers were having real fun. Eh, am more for the acoustics type of music but the beat and the crazy crowd was inviting so I went in. OMG a hip-hop dance contest was in progress. Oh so thats why there were a lot of shouting and cheering!

Some of the contestants were "candidates", but OMG, the guest dance group... many of them were better candidtes. Some of them had their wives and children around but I did not care. Di ko naman sila aasawahin! THE PROBLEM was not more on how to 'connect' but with who since there were many choices! Awooooo!

No stir... I got picked! I mean that is how I want to interpret this!

I was by the bar sitting at a high-stool with only the bartender and the waitress to talk to. But I was enjoying the "show". In between contestants' performances, there were intermissions, and the guest-group did not just dance once or twice or thrice... many times. One in that group (a candidate, yes a real BETchabyegollywow) probably noticed that I was alone, so he came near to talk to me! Maybe he took pity that I had nothing to enjoy the night with?! Bla bla bla, I learned that their group was one of the most popular in Iloilo. That they have already performed with Manila singers and even performed at noontime shows, and so on.

Make the story short... I did not sleep alone! AND, no "PAYola" or "FAYe Dunnaway"! He just enjoyed my company and I his body... haaaaay!
